**********IF you have any problems in set up or tuning ALWAYS TURN THE KEY SWITCH OFF, this will kill power to the controller.
Work safe, this procedure requires you to put your hands in tight places, make sure the engine, exhaust system and surrounding areas are cold before starting the removal process. Make sure you secure the machine in such a way that it cannot be moved or started until you have completed your work. BEFORE start up, make sure that the exhaust system/slip on (headpipe (s), s-bend (s), muffler (s) are clear of any plastic, electrical, fuel, control cables, hydraulic lines or anything else that high heat of the exhaust system can damage. *ALWAYS refer to your FACTORY SERVICE MANUAL for specifications, procedures, or for any other information not provided here. **IMPORTANT NOTE: Adding a slip on/full system without recalibrating the EFI or Carb could lead to muffler and or engine damage. Failure to add an EFI recalibration box or crcalibrate the Carb settings WILL increase exhaust temperatures beyond what the muffler body, muffler end caps, powdercoating and internal packing material were designed. Always verify any EFI or Carb changes by doing a throttle chop/plug check in all the ranges of adjustment. Failures of this type WILL NOT be warrantable** Remove the seat, and upper plastic to gain access to the injector. It is a grey connector, simply unplug it from the injector. One end of the Optimizer pigtail plugs INTO the OEM injector wire you just removed. The other Optimizer pigtail plugs into the OEM injector. Then make the final connection by grounding the small black pigtail to the (-) negative terminal on the battery. A good place for the Optimizer is in the airbox or in that area. Remember the Optimizer is water resistant NOT water proof. IF you plan on deep water running place the Optimizer in a plastic baggie and tape it shut. OR an Ipod waterproof case works well.
