Default 2009 klx 250s needle shim

Would like to use MX series slip-on for my 2009 klx 250s. I would follow the baseline as given for the '06 klx mods: 125 main, 40 pilot, 2 turns a/f, snorkel removed, but, will replace stock air filter with a UNI filter. Baseline recommends 0.032 shim on needle. Two #4 washers would be close to 0.050, is this too much? OR, could a #6 washer be used, as it is about 0.036? With the popular N1TC needle, would the clip be in the second notch from the top or the middle (3rd) notch? THANKS

The .032 shim is what worked best for us on the 06. Your 09 may be slightly different. Don't be afraid to try the .050 shim or the adjustable needle. If its way off one way or the other you will know immediately by the way it runs between 1/4 and 3/4 throttle.
