I have my optimizer set up to your specs, and I have to change the plug quite a bit and they are always very black. I have a 2010 x with a comp series slip on, uni filter. Running about 500 ft elevation.

With air box lid on you may need to back the first three modes down. Try 2 / 3.5 / 2.5
