Swift Wins Overall, Beasley Clinches Championship

Lewisburg, TN (09/24/2011) – It was a phenomenal weekend for the UXC Racing team as Cliff Beasley clenched his 29th consecutive win and wrapped up the 2011 GNCC U2 class championship, while Michael Swift topped the morning podium and took the 4×4 Open win at Mountain Ridge, helping to extend his points lead.

Round number ten of the 2011 GNCC series saw a great weather and a challenging track in Somerset, PA. The Mountain Ridge facility is known for its long fast section, but it is also known for its incredibly rocky and tough terrain in other spots, but the UXC Racing team prevailed with a very successful weekend that included wins all around.

Cliff Beasley, who has remained undefeated in his class, took his 29th consecutive win at Mountain Ridge and wrapped up the 2011 U2 class championship. Beasley grabbed the U2 class holeshot and led from start to finish, taking his class win by over seven minutes with a time of 01:59:26, that also put him in fourth overall for the day. “I’m really happy to bring home a championship for our team and for all of our sponsors. This has been a great season for me and I hope it continues to be. I had a good time out there and now the pressure is off of me, so I am really looking forward to the final rounds. I’m still going out there to win, but it will also be a lot of fun,” said Beasley.

Michael Swift also had a stellar run in the 4×4 Open class. Swift took the lead in the first lap and began to pull away from the competition. Swift, who has always shined in the rough and technical tracks did not disappoint as he charged his way through the rocks and mud. “It was really rough out there, but I like the rough stuff and I was able to keep my lead,” said Swift.

Swift took a beating on the track, but he still finished over 30 seconds ahead of his nearest competitor to not only take the 4×4 Open class win at the checkered flag, but also the overall win to top the morning podium. “I really have to thank Ricochet Skid Plates. They held up great even with all the rocks. I also have to thank my pit crew. They worked really hard and got me in and out really quick,” said Swift, who is the 4×4 Open class points leader.

The UXC Racing team would also like to extend a special thanks to Evans Racing Coolant for coming out and supporting us. It was great to have them attend this event and we hope they will be able to join us again soon!

Round eleven of the 2011 GNCC series will be heading to Power Line Park in St. Clairsville, OH on October 8th, where the UXC Racing team will be going for the podium once again.
