HMF Optimizer Instructions For Models: Commander 1000 (2011-2017), Commander 800 (2011-2015)
1. Remove the Passenger Seat.
2. Remove the 9 Plastic Push Fasteners from the Passenger Side Engine Cover. Remove the Cover. (See Figure #1)
3. Remove the 2 Plastic Push Fasteners and 2 Torx Head Bolts from the Center Dash Panel. Open the Glove Box and gently pull out on the Center Dash Panel. Rest the Panel on the Hood. (See Figure #2)
4. Starting under the steering wheel, route the Optimizer Wiring Harness through the opening under the dash, on the right side of the steering wheel. (See Figure #3)
5. Continue routing the Harness under the Center Console along the right side of the engine.
6. Unplug the Fuel Injector Wiring Harness from the Front Cylinder Fuel Injector. (See Figure #4)
7. Unplug the Fuel Injector Wiring Harness from the Rear Cylinder Fuel Injector. (See Figure #5)
8. Plug the Black Optimizer Connectors into the Grey Fuel Injector Harness Connectors. Plug the Grey Optimizer Connectors into the Fuel Injectors.
Note: The connectors on the Optimizer are not specific to the Front or Rear Cylinders.
9. Use the supplied zip ties to fasten the Optimizer Wiring Harness away from moving or hot objects.
Note: HMF will not be held responsible for damage caused by improper installation.
10. Route the Optimizer Ground Wire to a Good Chassis Ground.
11. Use the supplied Velcro to mount the Optimizer under dash. (See Figure #6)
12. Replace all the Panels and the Passenger Seat.
Note: Your HMF Optimizer comes with our base line settings pre programmed. These are the settings found to work best with an HMF exhaust system. Other modifications as well as changing outside conditions may warrant additional tuning by the end user. Always start with the base settings for your model.
