Full System Exhaust Instructions

Removal

1. Remove the seat and right side body panels.

2. Use a long piece of electrical wire or a spring puller to remove the springs from the inlet on the left muffler.

3. Remove the left side muffler then loosen the clamp for the crossover tube at the right side muffler and remove the crossover tube.

4. Use a long piece of electrical wire or a spring puller to remove the springs from the inlet on the right silencer and remove the silencer.

5. Remove the (4) head pipe-to-cylinder head nuts/washers and head pipe, being careful not to lose the gaskets.

Installation

1. Thoroughly clean the right side of the belt housing and apply the supplied heat shield square.(See Figure #1)

Note: Extra heat shield material has been included to place wherever deemed necessary.  

2. Inspect the head pipe-to-cylinder head gaskets for wear or damage and replace them with new ones if necessary. 

3. Using the original hardware, install the HMF head pipe. (Hand tight only)

4. Slide the HMF silencer over the head pipe and into the rubber hangers.

5. Using a long piece of electrical wire or spring puller, install the supplied springs between the head pipe and silencer.

6. Tighten the head pipe-to-cylinder head nuts.

7. Install the right side body panels and the seat.

8. Inspect all areas around the exhaust system for proper clearance and alignment and adjust as necessary.
