Can Am Outlander 1000/850 MAX (25-26) Head Pipe Installation Instructions For Models: Outlander 1000 MAX (2025-2026), Outlander 850 MAX (2025-2026)
NOTE: Removal of the Factory headpipe can be a laborous proccess that can be sped up by cutting the Factory rear headpipe in half to aid in its removal .
1. Begin by removing the Rear Bumper, Bumper Support braces, O2 sensor and Factory Muffler assembly.
2. Remove the Seat, Rear storage compartment, Rear luggage rack and fender assembly.(See Figure #1)

3. Disconnect the battery and remove the Battery box assembly ( you will need to drill out 2 rivets and remove one bolt.
4. In order to remove the rear header you will have to remove the gast tank, to do so first remove the Right Rear upper control arm then remove the Rear sway bar assembly.
5. With the control arm and sway bar out of the way disconnect the fuel supply line, vent line, remove the (3) 10mm nuts and bolts and remove the gas tank from the right side of the vehicle.(See Figure #2)

6. Remove the left front inner wheel arch protector, LH upper footstep shield and LH central panel.
7. Remove the CVT cooling intake from the belt housing.(See Figure #3)

8. Remove the factory heat shields from the factory Front and Rear headpipes and set them aside for reuse later.(See Figure #4)

9. Remove the front Head pipe by removing the (2) exhaust Stud nuts on the cylinder head and (2) Spring bolts connecting the Front Head pipe to the Rear Head pipe and slide it out the Left Front corner of the frame.
10. Unbolt the Rear Head Pipe from the rear cylinder head and begin sliding it rearwards, While sliding it rearward rotate the headpipe counter-clockwise and out to the left of the frame.
1. Begin by installing the New HMF Front Headpipe through the Left Front Wheel well opening in the frame and securing it loosely to the front cyclender head exhaust port.
2. Insert the New HMF Rear headpipe throught the Left rear frame opening, start inserting the Front Headpipe into the bulged end of the Rear Headpipe and loosely secure the Rear Headpipe to the Rear cylinder head exhaust port.
3. With both Front and Rear Headpipe loosely secured make sure the front headpipe is fully seated into the Rear headpipe and attach the provided short spring.
4. At this time tighten both Front and Rear headpipe flanges to the cylinder heads making sure the headpipes are not touching anything and have adequate clearance around them for the factory heat shields to be reinstalled.
5. With both Headpipes in place reinstall the factory heatshields with the factory hardware in the stock locations.
6. Reinstall the CVT Cooling intake onto the Belt housing, after which you can begin installing the Left front inner wheel arch protector and LH upper footstep shield.
7. Reinstall the fuel tank and reconnect the Supply line and vent line.
8. With the fuel tank reinstalled it is now time to reinstall the battery tray, Right Rear Upper control arm and Sway bar assembly.
9. Once that is done it is now safe to begin reinstalling the Rear Fender Assembly, Rear Luggage rack, Rear Storage compartment and Seat assembly.
10. At this point the Full system header installation is complete.
